Originally from South Korea, Julia began to study abroad at the age of twelve. Since then, she spent time in the Philippines and Malaysia, and has lived in the San Francisco Bay Area since 2014. She attended Diablo Valley College, transferred to UC Berkeley, and graduated from Cal with a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics. As a transfer student herself, Julia mentored community college students planning to transfer to UCs through Cal's Starting Point Mentorship Program. She still enjoys connecting with international students and providing them with resources and advice. Her passion in helping others in a way has lead her to the financial services industry. Julia currently lives in Pleasant Hill, CA with her husband, Sean.
